Associate Professor Scott Poland at the American Association of Suicidology Conference in Boston this April. Poland is the Prevention Division Director and chaired the conference division meeting. In addition, Poland moderated a session on suicide and self injury.He also presented a pre-conference workshop on best practices for suicide intervention in schools, and co-presented with the director of counseling for Keller ISD in Texas on responding to suicide contagion.

Poland directs Nova Southeastern University's violence and suicide prevention initiative, a collaborative effort with the Division of Clinical Operations, NSU's Student Counseling Center and Division of Student Affairs. Dr. Jessica Garcia, an alumnus of the Center for Psychological Studies, also works with this project.
